Export Documentation Requirements Explained
Commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and phytosanitary certificates — what each document does.
· 5 min read

The core document set
A commercial invoice states the commercial value, the packing list describes how goods are packed, and the bill of lading or air waybill is the transport contract.
Certificates that clear customs faster
A certificate of origin proves where the goods were produced. Phytosanitary and veterinary certificates confirm plant and animal health checks. Missing certificates are the most common cause of port delays.
